RÉSUMÉ COVER LETTER
dated 25 July, 2007

Enclosed is a copy of my résumé.

The below synopsis reveals my capabilities as an accomplished contracts project manager:

After the resignation of EG&G's facilities services contract manager, I accepted the large contracts along with my existing professional and environmental services workload.  Found that there were no clear means for internal customers to determine actual monthly and annual costs for those contracts throughout their term.  Modified existing spreadsheets to show relevant information and inserted it within the firm's computer share drive. Led to significant company savings and earned me a quarterly award along with a promotion.

While in the active duty military, was selected as instructor for the Defense Acquisition University's (DAU) Contingency Contracting (CON234) Course - one of only a handful of enlisted DAU instructors.  My experience and contracting expertise was instrumental in making training more realistic which aided in the course achieving post-graduate level accreditation as well as some of DAU's highest ratings during course audits.  This earned my selection as Lackland's CON234 Course Manager and was subsequently chosen as Instructor of the Quarter, once at Group (base) level and twice at Squadron level.

While a Section Supervisor of the Supply Contracting Section at Holloman AFB, NM, I implemented policies that reduced the delinquent item listing of supplies purchased from approximately 15-pages to 2-pages.  This is a reduction of about 80-percent.  It was accomplishments such as this that helped me earn the title as Mid-Level Manager of the Quarter three times for the organization.

If you are willing to make your firm my firm, I would enjoy helping you to implement time and money saving processes.  Look forward to your contacting me or leaving a message via the information above.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Ed Norton

PS: With over 21-years as a contracts manager, I maintain a proven record for getting any procurement-related job done.  Therefore, I believe I am qualified for any such position you have to offer here in the San Antonio area.
